What comes with your oven

Finishes

Colours and brick arch

Mezzano ovens are painted in our workshop in off-white, black, light grey, cream or terracotta. The brick arch is most popular in red or black, and we can source other suitable bricks on request, subject to availability.

Optional extra

Wheeled stand

The Mezzano 70 can be supplied on a purpose-built wheeled steel stand for approx. R4,000, and the Mezzano 90 on a heavy-duty stand for approx. R6,500. A stand makes the oven movable on a firm, level surface, but the oven is still heavy masonry.

Delivery and access

Getting your oven into place

The Mezzano is a heavy masonry oven, so plan delivery and access before it arrives.

Fully assembled

Most Mezzano ovens leave our workshop fully assembled on a pallet, ready to be placed on their base.

Plan the route

Measure the narrowest gate or doorway and note any steps or slopes between the delivery vehicle and the oven position. Use suitable lifting equipment or professional handling. If carrying by hand, you need at least 4 people for the Mezzano 70 and at least 6 people for the Mezzano 90.

Tight access?

If an assembled oven cannot reach its final position, we can supply it as a kit. In Cape Town, we can assemble it on site.

Compare

Mezzano or Piccola?

Piccola and Mezzano ovens are made from the same core materials and follow the same construction method. The main differences are their appearance and front profile. The Mezzano extends further at the front, creating a slightly larger usable cooking floor and requiring more material, which is why it costs more.
