A proper pizza oven, without the commitment
Portable pizza ovens are handy for anyone who wants the experience of a wood-burning pizza oven without the commitment. Most pizza ovens are built directly onto your property. But if you don’t own your property, or aren’t permanently settled there, you may worry about the permanence of a standard pizza oven.
Similarly, if you don’t have a large outdoor entertainment area, you might not have room for a traditional pizza oven. This is where our portable ovens come in handy. They are high quality and handmade, and come with a wheeled metal frame that fits the oven perfectly, so you can enjoy a proper pizza oven and bring it with you when you move.
Portable pizza ovens are useful for both residential and commercial purposes. They are convenient, affordable and mobile.

Good to know
Movable, not lightweight
Our portable ovens are the same heavy masonry ovens as our standard range, on a wheeled stand. ‘Portable’ means you can roll the oven into position on a firm, level surface. It does not mean the oven is light or easy to lift.
- Move the oven only on a firm, level surface, such as paving or concrete.
- Move it slowly, with enough people to steady it.
- Lock the castor wheel brakes, and keep the oven stationary while it is in use and while it cools.
- Keep anything combustible well away from the oven, wherever you place it.

Is the wheeled stand included with the oven?
No. The wheeled stand is an optional extra, quoted separately: approx. R3,500 for the Piccola 60 and 70, R4,000 for the Mezzano 70 and R6,500 for the Mezzano 90.
Which ovens can be supplied on a stand?
All four residential ovens: the Piccola 60, Piccola 70, Mezzano 70 and Mezzano 90. Each stand is built for the size and weight of its oven.
Is a portable oven lighter than a standard oven?
No. It is the same heavy masonry oven on a wheeled stand. It can be rolled on a firm, level surface, but it is not light or easy to lift.
Do I still need to cure a portable oven?
Yes. Like every new masonry oven, it needs to be dried and cured with small, gentle fires before you cook at full heat.
