1. About these terms
These terms apply to all quotations, orders, supply, delivery and installation of ovens and accessories by Eco Pizza Ovens (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’). By accepting a quotation or paying a deposit, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law.
2. Quotations and prices
- Every order is based on a formal written quotation. Quotations are valid for 7 days from the date of the quotation.
- Prices on our website are a guide and may change. The price in your formal quotation is the price that applies to your order.
- Delivery, wheeled stands, accessories, travel and accommodation for installations outside Cape Town, and any site-specific work are quoted separately unless your quotation says otherwise.
- If a price or detail in a quotation is clearly an error, we will contact you to correct it before your order proceeds.
3. Payment: residential ovens
- A deposit of 60% of the quoted amount confirms your order and books it for manufacturing.
- Please email proof of payment to sales@ecopizzaovens.co.za so that we can confirm your order.
- The balance must be paid before delivery, courier collection or customer collection, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. An oven will only be released once the balance has been received.
4. Payment: commercial ovens
- A deposit of 70% of the quoted amount confirms your commercial project.
- The balance is payable immediately on completion, before final handover.
- Travel, accommodation, special finishes and site-specific work are quoted separately where they apply.
5. Manufacturing and lead times
Residential ovens are usually manufactured within about two weeks of your deposit being confirmed. This is an estimate and can vary with workload, season, materials and the requirements of your order. We will keep you informed if your order is delayed.
6. Delivery, collection and access
- You must give us an accurate delivery address and accurate access information, including the narrowest gate or doorway, steps, slopes and the distance to the oven position.
- Door-to-door courier delivery means delivery to the quoted address. Unless we have specifically quoted for placement, you are responsible for safe offloading and for placing the oven on its base, using suitable lifting equipment or professional handling. If an assembled oven is carried by hand, at least 4 people are needed for the Piccola 60, Piccola 70 and Mezzano 70, and at least 6 people for the Mezzano 90.
- For depot collection, you are responsible for collecting the oven and transporting it safely from the depot.
- Where access is too restricted for an assembled oven, we can supply a kit. Additional costs caused by inaccurate access information may be charged to you.
- Risk in the oven passes to you on delivery to the quoted address or on collection.
7. Installation
- In Cape Town, delivery and installation of residential ovens are included in the oven price, subject to confirmation of your address, access and installation requirements.
- You must make sure that the base or installation area is ready, level, strong enough for a heavy masonry oven and made from non-combustible materials, and that the site is accessible on the agreed date.
- Commercial installations usually take one to two weeks on site. Outside Cape Town, a travel and accommodation fee applies.
- If you install the oven yourself, or have it assembled from a kit by someone other than us, you are responsible for the installation.
8. Curing, use and safety
You must cure and use your oven according to our curing, care and safety guidance, which is available on our website. Our ovens are designed for outdoor use. If an oven is installed under cover or indoors, you are responsible for making sure the installation meets your local building and safety requirements. Use only dry, untreated hardwood, and never use flammable liquids, charcoal, coal or treated timber.
9. Warranty
We provide a two-year warranty on the oven and our workmanship from the date of delivery or installation. The warranty does not cover:
- normal cosmetic hairline cracks, which can appear as masonry heats and cools;
- misuse, or the use of unsuitable fuel;
- unauthorised modification of the oven;
- incorrect self-installation or kit assembly;
- impact damage or neglect;
- normal wear and tear;
- transport damage after the agreed handover point;
- damage caused by not following our curing, care and safety instructions.
To make a warranty claim, contact us with photos of the oven and a description of the problem. Do not attempt structural repairs yourself before speaking to us.
10. Product information
Measurements, weights, capacities and heat-up times on our website and in our spec sheets are approximate. Photographs are for illustration, and colours and finishes may vary slightly because each oven is made by hand.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for injury, damage or loss caused by using the oven contrary to our guidance. This does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Privacy
We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
